Child & Maternal Health

We are concerned greatly with maternal and child health - both during and after birth.

Since we live in one of the remotest areas of Nepal, we have problems regarding access to health services and health education. I have seen many women deliver children here. They really ought to be taken to the hospital, but this is difficult and the hospitals are not near. People here will take women to a dark and cold room after delivery and give her hot water with garlic and salt. Things are slowly changing for the better, but it is a slow process. Facilitating local access to good health education would make a huge difference. Diseases of the uterus are the biggest health problem amongst Nepali women.
